Since their debut in 2012, FGL have become one of the biggest success stories in contemporary country music. The duo of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley met in 2008 through a campus worship group at Belmont University. They partnered up in 2010 and released their first full-length album "Here’s to the Good Times" in December 2012. The album was an instant success, launching multiple No. 1 hits, including 'Get Your Shine On,' 'Stay' and 'Round Here.' The lead single, 'Cruise,' was an overnight crossover smash hit and became the best-selling digital country song of all time, launching the duo into superstardom.

FGL released their much-anticipated second album, "Anything Goes," in October 2014 featuring the chart-topping singles 'Dirt' and 'Sun Daze.' Hubbard and Kelley’s music has won multiple industry awards from the Country Music Association, Billboard and the Academy of Country Music.

The duo, one of the hottest groups in the history of country music, took home the Group Duo of the Year honors last month at the 2016 American Country Countdown Awards and debuted the first single – "H.O.L.Y." - from their third album, Dig Your Roots, which is scheduled for a summer release on Big Machine Label Group.

This is the third major music concert hosted by C Spire in Madison County. In 2013, Darius Rucker, the former front man for Hootie and the Blowfish, rocked the stage with tracks off his True Believers album. Last year, Miranda Lambert, the reigning queen of country music and its top female performer over the past five years, was the featured headliner artist during a special Memorial Day weekend concert.

City and company officials said they are looking forward to bringing top-caliber entertainment to Madison. "We’re proud to partner with C Spire to host some of the best country music entertainment around and excited to provide these type of premium quality-of-life experiences for our residents and visitors," said Mayor Mary Hawkins Butler.

"We're pleased to partner with Baptist Health Systems, the city of Madison and Nokia to bring Florida Georgia Line and some of the best country music performers to our state, which has a long, rich tradition as the birthplace of America’s music," said Jim Richmond, vice president of Corporate Communications for C Spire.

Richmond said industry research, including Nielsen's Soundscan, CMA and Billboard, all show that country music continues to be the most popular format in the U.S. today among all age groups and listeners with over 100 million fans. "Folks around here are passionate about their sports and their music - so providing opportunities for them to enjoy some of the best entertainment around is another way for us to engage with music fans throughout the region," he added.
